1. How to Insert Contact Lens
- Wash and dry your hands well, ideally with oil-free and unscented soap.
- Shake the lens case gently to ensure the lens is not stuck to the bottom.
- Using your fingertips, remove the lens from the case. Do not use your fingernails.
- With the lens in the palm of your hand, wash the lens with some solution.
- Check that the lens is not inside out:
- Place the lens on the fingertip of your index finger (left index finger for left eye, right index finger for right eye). Be careful not to mix up the left and right lenses.
- Now, open your eye by gently holding onto the upper lashes with the opposite hand, and bottom lashes using the middle finger of the same hand that holds the lens.
- Place the lens onto your eye.
- Blink a few times and move your eyes from left to right to settle the lens.
2. How to Remove Contact Lens
- Wash and dry your hands well, ideally with oil-free and unscented soap.
- Insert a couple of drops of solution into the eye to lubricate the lens for easier removal.
- Use the index finger of your non dominant hand to hold the upper eyelid open by gently holding the eyelashes.
- Use the middle finger of the opposite hand to pull the lower eyelid down. With this same hand, use the index finger and thumb to squeeze the lens to remove it gently.
- Repeat with the other eye.
3. General Tips
- Stay focused and relaxed.
- Always handle lenses with clean hands and keep the lens dirt-free by using a solution.
- Carry eye drops and cleaning solutions with you.
- Follow your optician’s instructions.
- Always pay attention to the condition of your eyes and see an optician if the condition changes.
- Never sleep with contact lenses in.
4. Which Prescription do I need?

- Prescriptions below -4.00 do not require conversion. Use the same prescription as your glasses.
